Horizon far too near today as the mist covered our land; only the trees at the bottom of the garden could be seen and how I wished ; I could stay here and watch as the mist arose and unveiled the scenes around me but alas I had to go and catch a train you know.

Ballyhaunis Train Station Nov.26th 2014

The drive to the station started to promise that more of my surroundings would be unveiled in time and as I; noisily, I might add ,tried to park the car for space was tight; my frustration at the lack of space was heard and a very kind gentleman offered to guide my parking , in the end I gave him the keys and he did a wonderful job of parking my car, the world is full of lovely people you know.
A lot of women on the train today and I wondered and hoped they were all happy , some looked sad , some looked like they needed a friend and others smiled and chatted for a little while, one lovely lady was going to the hospital the following day for her check up and as she shared a little I knew she was a little sad and she knew that I shared her fear for a moment or so , I am so grateful that I was able to wish her well .
When one lives in the country here you just know that some of the people on the train to Dublin are going to visit a hospital for themselves or someone dear to them and as you look around you can be sure that many of these women have chosen to go alone and to offer a smile can often lift a heart for a moment; so I am grateful that my trip was not in vain and I do so hope I lessened someone’s pain.

My bag full of gadgets at Ballyhaunis station as the day was showing signs of being unveiled.

Now dear reader do not think I spent the time on the train smiling at people, no just one or two; most of my time was spent with gadgets , laptop, phone , iPod and checking my ticket and then my glasses , and pouring out my coffee as I tried in vain to download some meditation music onto the silly iPod that just is proving to be far too small for me to handle . I have big hands and the iPod is tiny , maybe when my son comes home at Christmas he can help me sort out the Pod. Don’t you just hate letting technology get the better of you ?
To crown it all my phone died and just before the train stopped at Dublin too , and that’s when facebook came to the rescue; luckily my laptop held enough charge for me to make my arrangements for a meeting with a client and so my day was saved .
After the meeting I was  a little sad to leave Dublin without having a good long visit with family there but sure there is tomorrow and tomorrow again so happily this will be soon and I am so looking forward to it.
This post is more of a diary post really so I hope dear reader you understand some days are just days that start in a mist and remain in mist and it’s up to us to add some drama to the mist.

  1. “some days start in a mist and remain in a mist and it’s up to us to add some drama to the mist” I like that, Kathy. Drama in the mist. It sounds beautiful and sometimes, I guess, the mist can be very beautiful. It’s all about perspective. Blessings….Nina
